Workshop on Book Writing “Elevating Scientific Productivity through Writing Books”

Books are a very fundamental and lasting learning medium. The role of books in learning is not only as the transfer of knowledge but also as the source of inspiration. Unfortunately, writing a book for the academic community and the general public in Indonesia is still relatively low compared to some other Asian countries, such as Japan, Korea, and India. The contribution of authors from the academic community is still low, especially when compared to writers from the general public. Whereas, the academic community is considered as a familiar society with reading and writing, the source of ideas, the storehouse of knowledge, and the work of innovation.

By having this thought, the Department of English Teaching of UNIPMA held a Workshop on Book Writing entitled “Elevating Scientific Productivity through Writing Books.” It was held on Saturday, 13th of May 2017 in the 3rd floor hall of Campus 1 UNIPMA, Jl. Setiabudi no. 85 Madiun. The participants of the workshop were teachers/lecturers who are still actively teaching and the students of Department of English Teaching of UNIPMA.

The workshop invited an expert, Drs. Much. Khoiri, M. Hum. He is a lecturer of English Literature, Creative Writing, Cultural Studies from Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) and a writer. Khoiri, October 2013); "Pena Alumni: Membangun Unesa melalui Budaya Literasi" (2013); "Unesa Emas Bermartabat" (2014).
